The Black Futures Lab

The Black Futures Lab transforms Black communities into constituencies that change the way power operates—locally, statewide and nationally. The problems facing our communities are complex—the solutions require experimentation, innovation and political power. We deserve a government that represents us, policies that improve our lives, and politics that reflect our lives.

Color of Change

Color of Change designs campaigns powerful enough to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back, and champion solutions that move us all forward. Until justice is real.

Equal Justice Initiative

EJI works with communities that have been marginalized by poverty and discouraged by unequal treatment and are committed to changing the narrative about race in America. EJI produces groundbreaking reports, an award-winning calendar, and short films that explore our nation’s history of racial injustice.

Fair Fight

Promotes fair elections around the country, encourages voter participation in elections, and educates voters about elections and their voting rights. Fair Fight Action brings awareness to the public on election reform, advocates for election reform at all levels, and engages in other voter education programs and communications.

Voting While Black

Voting While Black is focused on building independent Black political power, amplifying Black voices, electing progressive candidates who share our values, and holding them accountable to our communities.

13th Forward

13th Forward is a legislative coalition of advocates, grassroots organizations, and impacted people working to end exploitation and brutality within our prison labor system.

15% Pledge

Black people make up 15% of the US population. So, The Pledge asked businesses to dedicate 15% of their shelf space to Black-owned brands. The Pledge is an invitation to retailers to give their valued community what they are asking for: variety and economic equality. The Pledge allows us to learn and grow together, led by a sustainable model for long-term change.

The Okra Project
